PUVA-therapy
PUVA therapy is a treatment that combines taking a photosensitizing medication with exposure to ultraviolet A light. It is indicated for various skin conditions and is always administered under medical supervision.
PUVA therapy is used as an alternative for multiple dermatological disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, mycosis fungoides, and more. We have a full-body cabin, foot lamp, and hand lamp, allowing us to tailor the treatment to each patient.
Benefits of PUVA therapy
- Reduces skin inflammation.
- Reduces the appearance of breakouts.
- Improves pigmentation in cases of vitiligo.
- Helps control chronic skin conditions.
- Provides visible and progressive improvement.
What is the procedure like?
Sessions are conducted in the office. The patient takes the prescribed medication beforehand and, after a few minutes, exposes the affected area or the entire body to UVA light. Each session lasts a few minutes.
Post-Treatment Care
For the following days, it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen. Your specialist can prescribe specific creams to keep your skin hydrated and promote recovery.
